The Sinister Six: Boomerang, Speed Demon, Overdrive, Beetle (no, not that one), and Shocker. Yes they know there’s only five of them. These guys are definitely villains who exist. This comic is the anti-team comic book. Each character is an irredeemable, backstabbing, @$$#@!#. They’re all just charming enough to win you over until, inevitably, they do something terrible. Will this team of misfit losers pull off the biggest heist the Marvel Universe has seen? No probably not, but they’ll definitely try.
This series is shockingly technically impressive.

The entire run is filled with jokes that work exclusively in comic book format. Speech bubbles with emoji-like images, and panels using cartoony diagrams utilize the comics medium extremely well. Steve Lieber is a comic comedy master who pairs perfectly with Nick Spencer’s jokes.
The plot of this comic subverts every superhero trope to offer an entirely new type of story. These villains aren’t masterminds trying to conquer the world, nor misunderstood anti-heroes trying to do good through violent actions. The Sinister Six is only trying to make money because they are losers.
This comic is also really, really funny.

All 17 issues of this series are on the marvel unlimited app and collected in the Superior Foes of Spider-Man Omnibus. The series is collected across three volumes. To find the print issues visit your local comic book store.
